Established in 1961On December 20, 1961 Schneiders’ Mobile Milling began with father and son co-owners, Jake and Gary Schneider. They would drive from farm to farm in a Daffin mobile feed grinder, grinding feed for farmers along the countryside in Bremer County. Jake and Gary would average 16-18 batches per day.
After a year of great success, Jake and Gary invested in a second truck. Their business started out of their home, with an office in the house and a mill in the barn. Their success continued and lead to an even bigger expansion of another building and a new office next to where Deike Implement currently resides. Due to Jake’s health, Gary purchased the business from him and continued to expand their operation. In 1980, Gary bought the old Waverly Farm Supply to move his business there. At this time, he renamed the business to Schneiders’ Milling, Inc. and also started selling fertilizer. SMI’s current office was built in February of 1992. Also in 1992, Gary’s son, Rick Schneider, became co-owner of Schneiders’ Milling, Inc. For the next 21 years, Gary and Rick worked together building and growing their business. Tragically, in March of 2013, Rick and his son Adam passed away in a grain bin accident. Today, the Schneider family continues to honor their legacy with the success of their business. Schneiders’ Milling, Inc. is currently co-owned by Gary Schneider and Tammy Dillavou. Schneiders’ Milling continues to grow selling various brands of feed, fertilizers, chemicals and also buying and selling grain. Our staff is honored to serve farmers across six different counties in Iowa and we greatly appreciate their business. |
